About me
Hi, I'm Jenny! I graduated with my Bachelors in Social Work and then went on to graduate school at Temple University to obtain my Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Children and Families. I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Pennsylvania and an EMDR trained therapist through an EMDRIA approved program with a focus on using EMDR with children, teens and their families, as well as EMDR with adults. I am currently in the process of advanced supervision to obtain my Clinical Social Work License (LCSW) by Haley Higby, LCSW. I strive to promote an environment of safety and openness throughout my clients journey to empower them to work through challenges and obstacles they are facing.
My previous experience includes School Social Work and Family Based Services throughout the Philadelphia and Lancaster areas. I have worked as a camp director and pre-school director, as well as experience in a therapeutic alternative school placement. I enjoy working with children, teens and young adults ages 3-21 years old.
Throughout my career I have always used strengths based, play focused, trauma informed models of practice to support clients in developing the strength they have inside. Based on clients' needs in sessions, I may utilize Mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Art and Sandtray therapy interventions, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person Centered Therapy. I have experience working with children and teens with Anxiety, Depression, Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder, and Trauma. I believe therapy works best when parents and guardians are included throughout the therapy process with their children. My hope is not only to empower my clients, but also their parents and guardians to develop skills to heal and grow in order to have healthy relationships.
