Monica Steffy MSW, LSW
Outpatient Therapist (she/her)
Steady and trust-building, unafraid of the harder conversations that lead to real change.
About me
Hi, I'm Monica! I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Pennsylvania, currently under the supervision of Julie Simmons, LPC, toward my advanced LCSW credential. I hold a Master of Social Work from Lancaster Bible College, and I feel lucky to get to spend my days working with kids, teens, and families.
I have a passion for working with families, and I know firsthand how important it is to build trust and a sense of safety before real change can happen. My goal is to empower the families I work with, and that sometimes means having the harder conversations along the way. I believe those conversations, held with care, are often where the most growth happens.
My clinical background includes training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy, and Play Therapy, along with a strengths based approach to every client I see. I work with children and teens navigating bigger life adjustments/changes, depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and neurodivergence, and I bring in play therapy and art therapy when it fits a client's needs. I also have experience supporting parents with parenting strategies and emotion regulation, as well as crisis intervention.
Most recently, I worked as a Masters level Family Based Therapist, which reinforced just how important it is to bring family into the therapy process when it's needed and appropriate. In my career I’ve worked in home based and community based mental health settings, which gave me a strong foundation for meeting clients and families right where they are, not just in the therapy office. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your family, and to walking alongside you as you work toward feeling steadier and more connected.
